Yarra Junction is quaint town on the Warburton Highway between Launching Place and Wesburn. The town was named so because it sits at the junction of the Yarra and Little Yarra rivers.
There is a large Woolworths supermarket in town, along with the Yarra Centre, an aquatic and leisure centre that includes a 25m indoor heated pool and health club. Amanda's cafe is a popular meeting spot for its laidback atmosphere and tasty menu.
There are four schools in Yarra Junction: Yarra Junction Primary School, St Joseph's Primary School, Upper Yarra Secondary College which has students from thirteen different primary schools, and the K-12 Little Yarra Steiner School. Caulfield Grammar School has a campus in Yarra Junction that is designed to educate students about earth studies and environmental sustainability. The campus has eco-cabins and classrooms that use solar and wind power as well as rainwater tanks that make it sustainable. It is also home to a commercial dairy.
