warrnambool Suburb Profile & Review
Warrnambool is located along the Shipwreck Coast, which earned its name from the number of ships that ran aground there in the early 1900s, due to the rocky coastline and unforgiving weather conditions. Situated past the end of the Great Ocean Road, Warrnambool has a population of just under 35,000, making it the tenth largest city in Victoria.
Fishing and whale-watching are two of the main attractions in Warrnambool. During the whale calving season between June and September, the city is inundated with visitors trying to catch a glimpse of Southern Right Whales that use the area for a nursery site. Australian Fur Seals, Fairy Penguins and dolphins are also known to frequent the ocean here, making the area a must-stop for wildlife observers.
The main commercial district in Warrnambool is based around Liebig and Kepler Streets, just south of the Princes Highway. The city is home to a number of botanical gardens and parks, as well as reserves surrounding the coast. Warrnambool has two train stations one conveniently close to the Deakin University campus and both operate services to Melbourne'seven days a week. Local bus services also navigate the city and head to surrounding towns.

warrnambool Income & Mortgage Stats
To calculate the percentage of income paid towards a mortgage for the suburb of Melbourne, multiply the mortgage payment (e.g. $2450) by 12 then divide this figure by the weekly income (e.g. $1200) multiplied by 52 (weeks) to look like this ($2450 x12/$1200 x 52) x 100 = 47%
Any figure above 30% usually indicates that the suburb you intend to buy in may have property owners with a high incidence of mortgage stress. In terms of maintaining or growing property values in the future and trying to secure a strong property price when selling, this could have an impact, especially in an economic or local industry downturn.
