ringwood Suburb Profile & Review
Ringwood is a civic hub for the outer eastern suburbs. Its scenic green spaces and public transport facilities are complemented by a proximity to the Dandenongs and the Yarra Valley region. Ringwood Lake is an idyllic picnic spot for families with young children, while sports grounds at Mullum Mullum Reserve and Jubilee Park are utilised by the Ringwood Redbanks and the Norwood Norsemen football clubs respectively.
Due to the newly completed EastLink and Ringwood Bypass, the suburb is a mere twenty-five minute drive from the CBD. Residents also enjoy frequent express train services to and from Ringwood Station in peak times. Despite these convenient connections to the inner city, younger residents looking for a fun night out can enjoy bars, nightclubs and live music venues on their back doorstep.
Eastland Shopping Centrecontinues to be a major focal point in the region. The centre hosts most major department stores, like Big W, Kmart, as well as Woolworths, Coles, and a Hoyts cinema. The Myer store has recently been revamped and, while it's smaller than the one in the CBD, you'll find a lot of the same stock. Spot + Nosh and Barclays cafe are both popular for brunch, and for something a little fancier, the Fire House is worth a look it's an old fire station which was converted into a popular restaurant. Families with children will find there are a whopping twelve schools in the suburb, including top secondary schools Aquinas College and Ringwood Secondary College, and top combined school Yarra Valley Grammar School.

Although it is dated 2011, this is the latest data available and should give property investors, property buyers and sellers a very good idea when researching or reviewing their suburb.
It’s important to note when looking at this data that you don’t just use it on its own. Consider this demographic and real estate data as a whole and seek advice from a professional when thinking of buying or selling your next property.
What this means

ringwood Income & Mortgage Stats
To calculate the percentage of income paid towards a mortgage for the suburb of Melbourne, multiply the mortgage payment (e.g. $2450) by 12 then divide this figure by the weekly income (e.g. $1200) multiplied by 52 (weeks) to look like this ($2450 x12/$1200 x 52) x 100 = 47%
Any figure above 30% usually indicates that the suburb you intend to buy in may have property owners with a high incidence of mortgage stress. In terms of maintaining or growing property values in the future and trying to secure a strong property price when selling, this could have an impact, especially in an economic or local industry downturn.
