Set in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges National Park, Boronia has preserved its beautiful natural surroundings with tree-lined streets, extensive parklands and winding cycling paths. In such safe, clean, picturesque surroundings, it's not unusual to run into your neighbours walking their dogs at night or going for a jog.

The area has an endless supply of sports and recreational clubs. Kids frequent the calisthenics school, the radio control car club and the martial arts school. At Knox Leisureworks, there is a fitness centre and a beach style swimming pool. Tormore Reserve is home to the Boronia Cricket Club and the Boronia Hawks football team.
