Open House Melbourne returns in 2014 with over 100 buildings open over the weekend of the 26 and 27 July.

We all have the ability to enhance the quality of our urban environment by engaging with our city.

Open House Melbourne provides a unique opportunity for the community to experience award-winning design and architecture, allowing them to understand the legacy of good design and its role in our future.

This highly popular annual event attracts over 125,000 visits; 67.8 per cent of which are return visitors.

Open House Melbourne is pleased to announce the appointment of Fred Tinsley to the role of CEO and Eleni Kaponis to the role of Event Manager. These new appointments signify the success of the event over the past six years.

“I am thrilled to be leading the only major event that draws its attractions directly from Melbourne and its built environment,” Fred Tinsley said.

“Open House Melbourne puts a spotlight on the unique spaces and places that form the foundation of Melbourne, providing an opportunity for people to discover what makes their city special.”

In addition to the buildings opening their doors across the weekend, there will be even more activities to enjoy including film screenings, talks, tours and evening events.

Open House Melbourne is also partnering with Nite Art to install site specific artworks within some of Melbourne’s most iconic spaces.

In the lead up to the weekend, Open House Melbourne is partnering with publisher Thames & Hudson to launch a residential architecture tour that opens the doors to houses featured in the New Suburban book by Stuart Harrison.

The full building list will be announced in June. Visit openhousemelbourne.org and sign up to the newsletter to receive program announcements.
