Jennifer Hawkins and husband Jake Well are selling their lavish North Curl Curl home four years after buying it.
The property, located in the exclusive Windy Drop Down gated community, was a former tennis court when Hawkins and her husband purchased it for $1,375,000 back in 2010.
They then enlisted renowned Japanese-Australian architect Kiochi Takada to design a home befitting a wealthy celebrity power couple, installing additions like a heated infinity pool, a home cinema and a massive walk-in wardrobe to accommodate Hawkins’ array of designer clothes.
“The shoe wall is very special,” Hawkins says of the space, which fits more than 100 shoes along its rear wall. “The shoes look like pieces of art.”
An alfresco terrace overlooking the ocean and the distant Sydney cityscape is another notable feature. It includes an outdoor kitchen, an inbuilt barbeque and a fire pit, and would be fit for any party.
The property has been listed by Steve Thomas of Belle Property Manly for an undisclosed sum, though betting sites are already trying to anticipate the selling price.
“The property… was a former tennis court when Hawkins and her husband purchased it for $1,375,000 back in 2010.”
Sales in the gated community have reportedly ranged from $2.7 million to $6.7 million over the past four years, so it’s anyone’s guess what the result will be this time.
Hawkins and her husband, who already boast an impressive property portfolio, are big fans of the northern beaches and the relaxed coastal lifestyle it offers, and plan on staying in the area.
“We love it over here,” Hawkins says. “It’s a holiday every day of the week.”
The savvy investors have shifted their attention to a nearby northern beaches property – an oceanfront block they bought last year for $1.66 million.
After demolishing the single story cottage that occupied the land, they started construction on another Takada-designed home, which is due for completion later this year.
According to council records, they lodged a $900,000 development application for works that include a new swimming pool.
Hawkins recently posted an Instagram picture of herself visiting the construction site, with the caption: “On-site checking out the construction of our new pool. Pretty damn excited! 5 month countdown.”
