Donnybrook is a small township located ten minutes north of Craigieburn. The area is best known for the Donnybrook Mineral Spring, the oldest sparkling water spring in Victoria. The Donnybrook Spa Picnic Park is a large recreational area surrounding the spring featuring barbeque facilities, five different sets of playground equipment, a kiosk and horse and cart rides on weekends. The Hume Freeway in the west of the suburb provides swift forty minute access to the inner city.

Cheese lovers adore the Donnybrook Farmhouse Cheese Factory on Donnybrook Road, where they can indulge in tastings and an on-site cafe, while the Donnybrook Springs Hotel is popular for its quality pub meals. Residents complete most of their shopping in Craigieburn, where there are supermarkets, cafes and takeaway shops. The closest schools to the area can be found in Craigieburn and Roxburgh Park.

Donnybrook Station is primarily serviced by V/Line trains on the Seymour line. Trains travel all the way to Southern Cross Station, where travellers can then connect to the city loop and a variety of other country routes. An expansive new housing development is planned for the corner of Donnybrook Road and the Hume Highway, which is sure to add to the area's population. It is expected that 7,000 new homes will be built there.
